One of the most useful things a real estate agent can do in today’s world is to be a part of the online communities, especially Facebook, Google+, Twitter and Foursquare. Of course these social outlets are advantageous for a variety of reasons one in particular being to promote interaction. However, what most real estate agents haven’t considered is how each of the communities can transform their business.

Of course you can sign into your FB account and look up a local real estate company, the agents’ page and learn about homes that are for sale or rent. You can also find out about the latest events, current fads, where interest rates are at, view pictures and videos and stay in tune with particular industry news.

If real estate agents channeled the power of GPS, their direct sales would be a lot more effective. Sellers and agents can sign into Facebook and let their followers know the exact location and address they are at. The technology we have today lets potential buyers stay in touch with their real estate agents and will help them stay on top of the latest homes for sale, pricing, what has sold and current availability all from the updated location page.

You can also transfer your location through Twitter, Google+ and Foursquare. Foursquare is an even better application with its direct vehicle channeling that’s available to its users. With the web going mobile, smart phone users are dependent on their phones for information. By turning on your GPS/location, you can make use of apps like “find my friends” to find and locate other users with the same app. Both FB and Foursquare are better suited for giving status updates, making comments and media. Google+ makes it easier to upload particular locations so that family, friends and maybe real estate agents can view.

Truthfully, not every opportunity will warrant getting through to you via your agent. It’s a chaotic world today and it can be very trying to take care of numerous clients and their differing wants and needs. However, having the ability to stay in touch with your data base through this technology is highly advantageous. FB, Foursquare and + also offer ways in which you can filter updates, locations and events to friends and your client base, yet it doesn’t yield favoritism. If you have several clients with the same needs, it’s probably in your best to discuss any potential home purchases whether or not you do this digitally.

Finally, the power of location is tremendous, especially for real estate agents who could utilize this information to get ahead in their business. For realtors who are always on the go, technology like FB, Google+, Twitter and Foursquare are amazing apps so you can keep your client data base, friends, family and other real estate agents continuously updated with pertinent information as it relates to your business.
